We have amazing therapists at LLA and want to showcase them to you! This week, meet Elise Bondy!
Elise is a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant who has been with LLA for seven years. She began by serving clients in our clinics, but is currently working in the schools. She became a therapist because she has always loved working with children. She was a nanny at one time and the child she cared for was in the Help Me Grow program receiving OT for developmental delays. Elise loved being part of his “team” and was hooked! Her favorite part about being a therapist is the excitement on a child’s face when they accomplish something new and the look on a parent’s face when they see their child reach goals they hoped for but weren’t sure they would be able to reach.
Let’s get to know Elise better!
Would you rather have Super Strength or the Ability to Fly?
I’d have to say flying. I could get to the beach so much faster!
What is your therapy passion?
I love working with children with visual perception difficulties.
What is your favorite color?
What is your favorite book?
I love to read and it’s impossible for me to choose one favorite book. My favorites are biographies and mysteries.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to read, do crafts and cook.
What is your best advice for parents who are embarking on a journey with therapy with their kiddo?
Working with your child at home will help them reach their therapy goals. We only get to work with your child for 30-60 minutes a week. When you reinforce the therapy at home everyone wins.
What is your favorite team?
Cleveland everything! I enjoy Indians baseball games, Browns football and Monsters hockey.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I have always wanted to go to Ireland.
Would you rather have Ice cream or Cookies?
Ice Cream – specifically Mint Chocolate Chip
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
I went to a Rod Stewart concert and he came to the edge of the stage and held my hand! ( I’m showing my age here.)
Tune in to our next Spotlight to meet another one of our wonderful therapists!
