LLA Spotlight: Nalaya Lind
We have amazing therapists at LLA and want to showcase them to you! This week, meet Nalaya Lind!
Nalaya is a Registered Behavioral Technician who has been with LLA for since May! She serves clients in our Fairlawn Clinic. She chose to become a therapist because she wanted to try her hand at a new career field that would challenge her and help her develop as a young professional. One of her favorite things about being a therapist is seeing the progression in her kids!
Let’s get to know Nalaya better!
Describe your role at LLA:
My role at LLA is a Registered Behavioral Technician, providing ABA services to our kiddos!
Would you rather have pizza or tacos?
Absolutely tacos. If there’s anything you need to know about me it’s that my absolute favorite food is tacos.
What is your favorite movie?
One of my favorite movies is actually a favorite from childhood that I still enjoy and can watch it over and over, James and the Giant Peach.
What do you do in your free time?
I spend most of my free time nowadays relaxing with my husband or playing with my pets! (I have a bird and a dog).
What is your best advice for parents who are embarking on a journey with therapy with their kiddo?
My best advice would be to just hang in there! I know our parents can be overwhelmed at times, but the work we do here at our clinic really makes a difference for these kids and they will surely start to see results soon enough!
What is your favorite team?
I’m a browns fan by default because my husband has been a browns fan his whole life, but my favorite team is also the Miami Dolphins because my biological brother currently plays for them! #15
Are you an early riser or night owl?
Honestly neither, I thrive right in the middle of the day. But if I had to choose I’m definitely more of a night owl.
What is your favorite inspirational quote?
It’s not necessarily inspirational but something that I align with: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style” -Maya Angelou
What is the best therapy advice you have ever received?
The best therapy advice I’ve ever received would be from our BCBA’s Nick and Melissa. They both have been very supportive throughout my time here at LLA, and they both have told me at one time or another that to succeed in this field you really just have to try your best, give your best effort, and don’t be afraid to reach out when you’re struggling.
What is your favorite pizza topping?
I enjoy pretty much every pizza topping except anchovies and pineapples
Tune in to our next Spotlight to meet another one of our wonderful therapists!
